The Pemaquid Lobster Co-Op Restaurant (Eat-In/Take-Out) was established in 1990. In the beginning, the lobster shack was a tiny 15’ x 20’ building with a small outside lobster tank and a handmade brick lobster cooker. The Pemaquid Lobster Co-op Restaurant was born and the menu was simple. Lobster dinners, lobster rolls, clams, mussels, chowder and hot dogs comprised the entire menu for ten years.

The outside pavilion was built to provide covered seating. The lobster shack was moved back, and the kitchen was constructed to join the pavilion, which enabled the restaurant to offer more choices on the menu.

When you travel to the Pemaquid Lobster Co-op Restaurant, your senses will be captivated by the breathtaking views of the ocean, the smell of the salty air and most importantly, the taste of what the Pemaquid Lobster Co-op Restaurant has to offer: fresh lobsters caught daily from the Co-op's lobstermen and sweet, tender, locally-harvested clams dug by local clammers. Parking is available, or come by boat and tie-up on the Pemaquid Lobster Co-op’s temporary floats. We are located at latitude: N 43° 52.933' and longitude: W 069° 31.117'. Click here to see our complete menu.  The main menu item that has not changed in over twenty years is our famous Pemaquid Lobster Roll. The Pemaquid Lobster Co-op Restaurant serves a fantastic Pemaquid Lobster Roll with approximately two lobsters worth of fresh-picked (never frozen!) 100% lobster meat, mixed with a tiny bit of mayonnaise, served on a buttered & toasted 8" sub-roll with a bed of lettuce, a side pickle and a bag of chips.

The Pemaquid Lobster Co-op Restaurant is an eat-in/take-out restaurant with a large seating area; we offer seating in the closed-in pavilion as well as picnic table seating outside. In the heart of the summer, when Pemaquid is booming with visitors, the restaurant gets busy. While there is sometimes a slight waiting time, the scenery and BYOB flexibility combine to make it all worth the wait. For parties of more than fifteen, please call
ahead so the restaurant staff can accommodate everyone. Fresh, uncooked lobsters are available for take-away purchase as well, if you prefer to steam them at home.

The staff at the Pemaquid Lobster Co-op Restaurant provides its patrons with a clean, friendly, enjoyable dining experience. The lobsters are handpicked out of the tank as they are ordered. The lobster meat for the rolls and the stew is fresh and picked daily by staff. The chowders, coleslaw, cocktail sauce and tartar sauce are made fresh daily in the kitchen by the staff as well. When available, the dessert pies are sourced locally from Dot's Bakery in Round Pond or Clark's Farm Stand in Damariscotta. Fresh picked lobster meat is also available for take-out.

The Pemaquid Lobster Co-op Restaurant rents the outside pavilion for large parties of fifty or more. The restaurant has hosted many functions such as wedding receptions, anniversary parties, graduation parties, office parties and reunions with your choice of ordering off the menu or choosing to have a traditional Maine Lobster Bake (at additional cost).
